Instructional design portfolio
What follows is a select group of works which display some of my instructional design capabilities.
Some Current Examples of Work
New Hire - Physical Safety and Security
|
This eLearning module was developed to provide new hires with important safety information. The ADDIE process was followed to ensure an effective learning experience and a wide range of tools were used to develop an engaging and appealing user experience.
Tools: Storyline 360 - Used to create the eLearning module Adobe Photoshop - Create custom imagery Adobe Illustrator - Edit icons and custom vector graphics Adobe After Effects - Create custom animated map Adobe Premiere Pro - Create video intro slide show Adobe Audition - Audio editing Snagit - Used to capture screenshots The best part of developing this course was the parking lot simulation. It's a simple interaction, but it was fun to create and was well received by learners. |
New Agent Onboarding Curriculum
|
This project was by far the biggest of my career. The New Agent Onboarding Curriculum was commissioned to help the company standardize the knowledge of insurance agents coming to work with us for the first time. This six module, online curriculum was developed in conjunction with multiple subject matter experts and stakeholders. The finished product provides agents with the knowledge they need to be successful.
Tools: Storyline 360 - Used to create the curriculum framework Adobe Photoshop - Edit images Adobe Illustrator - Edit icons and custom vector graphics Adobe After Effects - Create custom motion graphics Adobe Premiere Pro - Edit video Adobe Audition - Audio editing Snagit - Used to capture screenshots The best part of this course was developing the company introduction video. The first module of the course is a five minute video introducing agents to the company. I used Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects to create an original video using minimal resources. It turned out great and the video was adopted for other programs around the company. |
Some Early Examples of Work
Parts of these projects have been sanitized in order to protect company information. Company logos have been removed and company information has been changed or replaced with example text.
This ethics helpline course was developed to teach new employees about our Ethics Helpline and when they should use it. This short eLearning module was developed with Articulate Storyline using assets from Adobe Stock.

This interaction was designed as a part of a larger curriculum. A subject matter expert provided a script he wanted provided to trainees, but instead of simply attaching a document for participants to read through I created this interaction for a more immersive learning experience. This interaction was produced using Articulate 360 and Articulate's assets library.

Freelance Work Performed
This video was designed to help new employees understand how to fill out their time sheet online. The screen capture was accomplished using Adobe Captivate. The recording was then imported into Adobe Premiere Pro to add the audio and mask certain data to protect the employees private information.
Program Analysis
Understanding an organization is one of the most important steps in effecting lasting change. Instructional designers are often key components of change in an organization and the ability to conduct a sound and thorough analysis of the program or organization is the key to ensuring any change is properly handled. The following program analysis, conducted as a part of EIDT 6130, is an in depth view of one organization which desired to initiate a broad program change. This analysis is the first step in ensuring that organizational change is approached appropriately and managed effectively.
